Abstract

Once a radiography is produced the radiographer responsible will view film to assess its suitability as a diagnostic aid in terms of image quality. Contrast, definition and average density will be examined among other things and it is these qualities which can be coniderably affected by the viewing conditions.
There is very two important factor of the viewing condition that is Illumination intensity and uniformity in a view box. For the purpose of improve the illumination intensity and uniformity, Author have a experimental study and could get results of the improve way to the view box performance as follows.
1. There is a few % of view box(below 1% illumination intensity, below 34% uniformity) meet the regurations.
2. Variation of illumination intensity found out 16% in accordance with the kind of fluorescent lamp.
3. Day light fluorescent lamp intensity higher 9.4% than white fluorescent lamp.
4. Inverter type view box¢¥s light intensity lower 5-10% than choke type view box.
5. Silver coated paper is suitable for back reflection meterial in the view box.
6. When we control the light intensity usually change the line voltage with
autotransformer. According to line voltage the choke type view box more
available than inverter type view box.
7. The wave pattern of fluorescent by oscilloscope has found out 150,000 counts in a second in choke type lamp. however, inverter Iamp flickers several hundred times of choke type lamp.
